This hand-woven wool scarf is made by Avani, a social enterprise based in the Himalayan foothills in Northern India. It is dyed using natural materials and woven by weavers employed by Avani that live in the 108 villages in which Avani works.  Avani is focused on generating income for local people and using only local skills and local, environmentally friendly materials. Avani’s primary focus is on sustainably harvested and produced tints, dyes, textiles and garments.
