Belonging

Imagine this.
It's the holidays.
You're busy preparing to welcome friends and family into your home.
Perhaps there's a fire crackling nearby. You're huddled around it on the hearth. You reach for that quilt... the one you always bring out this time of year. The quilted fabric reminds you of the warmth of the season. And of generations gone by. Of hands that stitched before yours. Perhaps the fabric reminds you of the quilt created many years ago by a loving aunt.
The table is set, just as it is every year. The plates, the linens, the small details that return like old friends.
Once again, the fabrics play their role. These rituals, the quilt, the table settings. they hold stories, warmth, familiarity.
And in that moment, you feel it.
A sense of belonging.
To this family, to these friends.
You huddle closer to the fire, pull the quilt tightly around you.
My hope is the your holidays brought you that warmth, that sense of belonging, that familiarity.
Thank you, always, for being here.
May 2026 bring you exactly what you’re wish for.
The artisans who make my kantha sari napkins similarly feel that sense of belonging as they bring these napkins to life.
The ancient art of kantha stitching and quilting handed down over generations give them a sense of space, of familiarity, purpose and belonging.
